assemble#

Assemble PCM WAV audio excerpts with frame-accurate trim, gain and linear fade envelopes, concatenating processed clips into a verified recording.

Common mistakes and assumptions:

  • Integer sample frames give exact half-open source selections; linear amplitude gain precedes nonoverlapping fades.
  • Independent PCM reopening checks each processed sample and exact concatenation; source hashes invalidate stale reuse.

Native binding: sox trim STARTs COUNTs vol GAIN fade t INs COUNTs OUTs; sox --combine concatenate. Output kind: ["file","text"].

Inputs: none.

Option Meaning Type / constraints Default
clips List one to eight recording excerpts in playback order. Each clip is processed separately before joining, so boundaries remain exact and clips never overlap. Total output may not exceed 262144 frames; the whole-job byte/sample budget also applies. {"type":"array","items":{"type":"object","properties":{"source":{"type":"string","minLength":1,"maxLength":4096,"required":true},"startFrame":{"type":"integer","minimum":0,"maximum":262144,"default":0},"frameCount":{"type":"integer","minimum":1,"maximum":262144,"required":true},"gain":{"type":"number","minimum":0,"maximum":4,"default":1},"fadeInFrames":{"type":"integer","minimum":0,"maximum":262144,"default":0},"fadeOutFrames":{"type":"integer","minimum":0,"maximum":262144,"default":0}}},"minItems":1,"maxItems":8} required
